Charlie Covell gives explanation after Netflix cancels show

Charlie Covell has urged fans to “please keep talking about it Kaos” following the Netflix show’s shocking cancellation earlier this week.

Fans were blindsided on Tuesday when one of the leads, Aurora Perrineau, posted on Instagram that the show would end after one season. This came a few weeks after Covell said they had ideas for two more seasons of the Sister-produced series, starring Jeff Goldblum, Janet McTeer and Nabhaan Rizwan.

Covell said on Sister’s Instagram in recent minutes, “My hope now is that people still continue to discover and enjoy the show.”

“I think there are some potential fans who might need more time to find it, so keep talking about it Kaos if you enjoyed it,” wrote Covell, who also created the hit The end of the damn world series for Netflix and Channel 4.

“Stripped”

Covell said they are “sorry that they don’t make more money Kaos but I don’t want this news to overshadow our results.” Goldblum played the lead role Kaos as Zeus, who begins to fear that his reign is coming to an end, as he sees a wrinkle on his forehead, causing him to become paranoid and hateful towards his devotees. Meanwhile, three mortals (Perrineau, Misia Butler and Leila Farzad) embark on a journey to fulfill their identical prophecies.

News of the cancellation of such a big-budget show so soon after its launch came as a surprise on Tuesday, and Deadline understands that preparations for a second season were in full swing, with the first being open-ended. The series had built up a considerable fan base and was in the Netflix top 10 for English-language series for the first four weeks.

Covell thanked the “amazing fans” and added: “I’ve been shown subreddits that have made my heart sing positively: the little details and Easter eggs you pointed out made my day many times better.”

In a nod to the series, they joked that the phrase “there is no renewal” is “satisfyingly meta, even in cancellation.”
