‘Kaos’ creator responds after Netflix canceled series after one season

‘Kaos’ creator Charlie Covell has spoken out for the first time since the Greek mythology comedy series was canceled by Netflix after just one season.

On Thursday, Covell wrote a message to fans of the show on production company Sister’s Instagram page, writing: “Of course I’m sad that I’m not making more ‘Kaos,’ but I don’t want this news to overshadow what we do . made. I feel incredibly lucky to have worked with such an exceptionally talented cast and crew, and I am extremely proud of our show. Thanks to absolutely everyone involved: it was a huge team effort and a huge privilege to work with you all.”

“Kaos” starred Jeff Goldblum as an erratic modern-day Zeus who has chained Prometheus (Stephen Dillane) for interfering with his rule. Prometheus then tries to overthrow Zeus with the help of three people: Eurydice (Aurora Perrineau), Ariadne (Leila Farzad), and Caeneus (Misia Butler). Covell, known for their adaptation of ‘The End of the F***ing World’, wrote all eight episodes.

News of the show’s cancellation broke on Tuesday and many fans took to social media and Reddit to express their displeasure. In their message, Covell thanked the show’s supporters for the “love and enthusiasm.”

“I’ve been exposed to subreddits that have made my heart positively sing: the little details and Easter eggs you pointed out made my day many times better,” Covell wrote. “I am overwhelmed to the point of your positive response to the show – thank you!”

The creator even added that they saw one theory on Reddit “about who or what ‘Kaos’ is” that was “bang for the buck.”

Covell concluded that their “hope now is that people will still continue to discover and enjoy the show: I think there are some potential fans who may need more time to find the show, so please keep talking about ‘Kaos’ if you enjoyed it. ”
