Chuck Woolery, the original host of “Wheel of Fortune,” has died at the age of 83

Legendary game show host Chuck Woolery, the first host of “Wheel of Fortune,” died Saturday. He was 83.

Woolery’s death was announced by his friend and podcast co-host Mark Young in an X-post.

“It is with a broken heart that I tell you that my dear brother @chuckwoolery has just passed away. Life won’t be the same without him, RIP brother,” Dr. wrote. Mark Young.

Although they quickly called 911, Woolery could not be saved.

Woolery got his big career break in 1975 when he was named host of “Wheel of Fortune.”

He would continue in that gig until 1981, when Pat Sajak would take over.

Woolery would later host shows like “Love Connection,” “Scrabble,” and a revival of “The Dating Game.”

Chuck Woolery is survived by his wife Kim and his children Katherine, Melissa, Michael and Sean.

There is currently no known cause of death.
