    Cleveland casino poker dealer accused of stealing from pot

    The dealer at JACK Cleveland Casino is accused of stealing 14 times over a one-month period and has been fired

    A former poker dealer in Ohio is accused of stealing the pot while working at a Cleveland casino.

    Jason Saliba, 51, was charged in an Ohio court with 14 felony counts of violating casino gambling laws and theft.

    According to an indictment obtained by USA TODAY on Monday, Saliba is accused of stealing 14 times over a one-month period. The indictment does not specify how much was taken.

    Saliba was arraigned in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court and given a $2,500 personal bond, according to court records.

    Saliba’s attorney did not immediately return USA TODAY’s message seeking comment Monday

    A patron shed light on the situation

    According to Ohio Casino Control Commission records obtained by cleveland.com, a casino patron accused Saliba of theft. Saliba worked in the poker room at JACK Cleveland Casino at the time.

    The patron’s report came on September 6, when they told a casino manager that Saliba was stealing from the pot. The staff then reviewed surveillance footage, which the report said showed Saliba taking money from the table five times.

    Saliba was subsequently fired the next day.
