Coldplay 'Infinity Tickets' sold out; Fans are tweeting that the system has been rigged as tickets for concerts in Mumbai and Ahmedabad are sold immediately

“When you try your best but you can’t make it,” said fans as they once again missed out on the chance to get a ticket to the upcoming Coldplay ‘Music of the Spheres’ concert in January 2025.
On Friday it was announced that the long-awaited ‘Infinity tickets‘ for the band’s concerts in Mumbai and Ahmedabad would go on sale at 12 noon. But even those who lined up in plenty of time for the chance to get their golden ticket were left disappointed. The coveted special cheap tickets, priced at just Rs 2,000, were bought almost immediately after the release, leaving scores of people waiting in their virtual queue for over 30 minutes before giving up.

The overwhelming demand sparked outrage on social media, with many fans expressing frustration with the ticketing system. One user even tagged the Mumbai Police, claiming it was a case of ‘ticket fraud’. The fan tweeted, “Now tickets are sold out! Please confirm how many tickets have been issued since my queue # has only moved by 80. @MumbaiPolice Shd is conducting an impartial investigation.”

Disappointed fans took to Twitter to express their frustrations, claiming the system was unfair or “rigged”. Many fans pointed the finger at bots or resellers, claiming they had no chance of getting tickets despite being online long before sales started. One fan complained: “Coldplay infinity tickets sold out in seconds, 98% probably went straight to resell. Let’s stop feeding these greedy resellers! If we all refuse to buy, they will have no other choice Then sell at face value closer to the concert. Let’s make them sweat!”
Yet another said: “Another @bookmyshow let down, how come the infinite ticket queue for Coldplay is up to 97,000 when the number of tickets is so small? Also no movement in the queue number for 30 minutes.”
Another asked: “How it was already sold out when the queue literally stayed on the same song for a whole hour????? Did anyone even get the infinity tickets in the end, pls lmk”
“Started at 272. Now at 90 for the Ahmedabad show… the number is not moving since the last half hour….” read another post.

Fans had to purchase the Infinity tickets in pairs, with seats assigned at random. The affordable prices, coupled with Coldplay’s huge fan base in India, meant the tickets sold out in moments.

Coldplay’s upcoming concerts in India have created immense excitement. The band will perform in three shows in Mumbai and then two shows in Ahmedabad, marking their first visit to the country since their iconic performance at the Global Citizen Festival in 2016.
The Music of the Spheres World Tour is a global phenomenon, with fans flocking to stadiums across Europe and the United States to see Chris Martin and the band perform their hits.
