South Florida vs. Portland

2:30 PM ET

Portland has ranked 329th or worse in points allowed per possession three of the past four seasons and finished 254th in that category on Wednesday. South Florida is picking up the pace this season, ranking 79th in the country in total possessions per game on Wednesday.

Toledo vs. Stetson

Entering this season, Toledo ranked in the top 33 in 3-point shooting percentage over the past seven seasons, but saw that percentage drop to 29.2% this season, with its top three scorers from a season ago leaving. Defensively, they ranked 247th or worse in points allowed per possession the past two seasons, allowing 77 points or more in three of their first four games this season.

Tennessee vs. Virginia

While the Tennessee offense is off to an impressive start, landing ninth in the country in points scored per possession on Wednesday, they face a Virginia team that is playing the same way it usually does even without Tony Bennett; ranking 30th in points allowed per possession and playing games with the second fewest number of possessions per game of any team in the country.

Texas Tech vs. St. Joseph’s

While Texas Tech’s three-point shooting percentage of 45.1% is impressive, all of these games came as a -18 or greater favorite at home in all four games and now they are playing their first game away from home. St. Joseph’s was second in the nation in points scored per possession in games played away from home on Wednesday.

Niagara vs. Kent State

As of Wednesday, Kent State ranks just 277th in points allowed per possession and faces a Niagara unit that has picked up their three-point shooting where they left off last season, making 38.2% of their three-pointers on the road this season is achieved. after shooting 38.5% on three-point shots on the road last season.

Eastern Michigan vs. Oakland

While Oakland’s offense is losing a lot of pieces and has struggled after winning a game in last season’s NCAA Tournament, their style should be conducive to higher-scoring games, allowing opponents to shoot 36.9% from a range of 3 points. Coming into Wednesday’s season, they ranked 311th in points allowed per possession after ranking 357th in points allowed per possession at home last season.
