Colorado snowfall totals reach a foot, with more to come

You wouldn’t know it from the small amount of snow in the Fort Collins area, but a complex storm system dumped more than a foot of snow in parts of Colorado as of Wednesday morning, with much more snow in the forecast, which will have consequences have trip.

A winter storm warning is in effect for much of the area east and south of Denver and warnings are in effect for the northeastern plains and foothills and mountains west of Denver until 5 a.m. Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

Where the impact of travel is expected to be greatest

The focus of this storm is from Denver in the east to the Kansas border, which will impact travel on Interstate 70, and from Denver in the south to the New Mexico border, which will impact travel between Interstate 25 and Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
