The new teaser for Warner Bros. A Minecraft Movie gets a little help from some very good friends: Set to the tune of The Beatles’ “Magical Mystery Tour,” the trailer welcomes the best-selling video game of all time to the big screen.

From Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, A Minecraft Movie is directed by Jared Hess and stars Jason Momoa and Jack Black. In this story, creativity is not just a pastime, but a survival mechanism.

The film also stars Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks and Sebastian Eugene Hansen, alongside Jennifer Coolidge.

Here’s the synopsis: “Welcome to the world of Minecraft, where creativity isn’t just about crafting—it’s essential to your survival! Four misfits—Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (Momoa), Henry (Hansen), Natalie (Myers), and Dawn (Brooks)—are struggling with everyday problems when they’re suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination. To get home, they’ll have to master this world (and protect it from evil things like Piglins and Zombies) while embarking on a magical quest with an unlikely expert crafter, Steve (Black). Together, their adventure will challenge all five to be bold and reconnect with the qualities that make them uniquely creative… the skills they’ll need to thrive in the real world once again.”

Director Hess’s creative team behind the camera includes director of photography Enrique Chediak, production designer Grant Major, editor James Thomas, VFX supervisor Dan Lemmon and costume designer Amanda Neale. Music supervisors are Gabe Hilfer and Karyn Rachtman, and the score is by Mark Mothersbaugh.

The film is produced by Roy Lee, Jon Berg, Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Jason Momoa, Jill Messick, Torfi Frans Olafsson and Vu Bui, with Todd Hallowell, Kayleen Walters, Brian Mendoza, Jonathan Spaihts, Pete Chiappetta, Andrew Lary and Anthony Tittanegro serving as executive producers. A Minecraft Movie will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures and in China by Legendary East, and will be released in theaters and IMAX exclusively in North America on April 4, 2025, and internationally on April 2, 2025.
