Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott addressed the locker room after the team’s 34-6 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, telling them he would fly to New York on Monday to see a specialist for his hamstring injury, according to Todd Archer of ESPN.

The specialist may recommend surgery for Prescott, which would require a three-month recovery and effectively end his season. If surgery is not necessary, he will have to be on the sidelines for at least six to eight weeks.

If Prescott were to go the surgical route, it would reduce the chance of re-injury in the future.

Prescott signed a new contract before the 2024 season worth $240 million through 2028, making him the highest-paid player in NFL history at the time.

The 31-year-old suffered the injury late in the third quarter during the Cowboys’ 27-21 loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 9.

After the injury, Prescott told reporters, “It’s something I’ve never felt before,” according to USA Today’s Lorenzo Reyes.
