Teresa Earnhardt, Dale Earnhardt’s widow, plans to turn 399 acres of her property into an industrial park, according to a rezoning application. What used to be a sprawling farm is now a rural estate in Mooresville, North Carolina.

Marusak’s report states that the property being rezoned is 2.5 miles from Dale Earnhardt Inc. is located, where the NASCAR icon drove his own racing team for years.

At an upcoming meeting of the Mooresville Planning Board, Teresa Earnhardt is expected to formally request the change. That meeting is scheduled for October 22 and her request is on the meeting agenda.

Currently, the 399 acres are owned by Earnhardt Farms LLC, with Teresa serving as the sole managing member. Earnhardt must submit the request to the Planning Board, which will then make a recommendation to the Board of Commissioners before anything is finalized.
