Per The numbers, Deadpool and Wolverine earned $3,117 from 100 North American locations, bringing its final domestic total to $636,745,858.

Combined with the film’s $701,046,064 in international ticket sales, Deadpool and Wolverine earned $1,337,791,922, The Numbers noted, against a production budget of $200 million before prints and advertising.

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is currently the second highest-grossing film of 2024

Even Deadpool and Wolverine had a worldwide box office of over $1.3 billion, it is not the highest-grossing film of 2024.

Instead, Disney’s animated movie juggernaut Inside out 2 is the No. 1 film of 2024 so far, grossing nearly $653 million domestically and $1.043 billion internationally for a global box office total of $1.696 billion worldwide against a pre-P&A production budget of $200 million.

Next Inside out 2, Deadpool and Wolverine will soon settle into its streaming video on demand home on Disney+ following releases on digital streaming physical media (4K, Blu-ray and DVD).

While both releases are comfortably ensconced in the home entertainment market, that doesn’t mean that Inside out 2 And Deadpool and Wolverine won’t be returning to theaters at some point to bolster their already big box office numbers.

That’s because awards season is underway and Inside Out 2 is primed for a slew of Best Animated Feature nominations from critics and industry organizations, including the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.

After all, the first Inside Out film from 2015 earned the Oscar for Best Animated Film in 2015.

As such, Oscar-winning films are often re-released in theaters to capitalize on the awards success, giving audiences a chance to see them in the way they were originally intended.

While Disney will certainly be flexing its awards season muscle behind it Inside out 2whatever the studio insists on Deadpool and Wolverine on the awards circuit – specifically for a Best Supporting Actor nomination for Hugh Jackman.

Depending on how the film performs during awards season, that’s completely within reason Deadpool and Wolverine could return to theaters if it has some success at the Oscars or other major film awards ceremonies.
