DJ Clark Kent’s death debunked by Questlove and Angie Martinez

According to Questlove, Angie Martinez and others, DJ Clark Kent has not died, despite reports suggesting otherwise.

On Wednesday (October 16) AllHipHop claimed that the veteran DJ, producer and sneakerhead had died due to “an undisclosed illness,” citing unnamed sources.

The Roots drummer quickly shut the story down, writing on Instagram shortly after: “DJ Clark Kent is STILL with us. I know many of you are rushing to say “FIRST!”

“But until there is some word or explanation from his wife or family, can you please stop with this misinformation? No matter how stressful it is.”

Legendary radio host Martinez also debunked the rumor, writing on X (formerly Twitter): “The article that The Source Mag and others posted about the death of DJ Clark Kent is false. Clark is at home with his family. Please do not share any other false information. It is hurtful, deeply irresponsible and untrue.”

Pete Rock also addressed those spreading the baseless news, writing on Instagram: “DJ Clark Kent has not passed away. Stop traumatizing his family message that he has passed away!!

DJ Clark Kent himself has not yet responded to the speculation surrounding his health.

The scare comes weeks after it was reported that Angie Martinez is producing a documentary about the 58-year-old, who produced classic songs like JAY-Z’s “Brooklyn’s Finest,” Biggie’s “Sky’s the Limit” and Junior MAFIA’s “Player’s Anthem.”
