Former President Donald Trump came to Austin on Friday. Out of work, supporters soaked in barbecue sauce at the County Line on the Hill.

Trump came to Austin to speak with renowned podcaster Joe Rogan.

“Well, my husband told me I had to cancel some appointments so I could be here, but I just didn’t want to miss it,” Debbie Kobe said.

The Republican Party of Travis County hosted the event, bringing a packed house to the Southwest Austin Restaurant.

“There are a lot of people, and I hope there will be more,” Wren Wallace said.

People talked politics over their side of potato salad, all excited to see the 45th president.

“I just want to show my support for President Trump and JD Vance, and if he sees us out there on the highway, I think that will just cheer him up, and he’s going to need it,” Michael Kobe said.

Former President Trump landed at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and gave a speech before passing through the city.

“I’m excited that Trump is in town and that I would get a chance to watch the motorcade go by,” Jennifer Lozano said.

Donald Trump’s visit was expected as he was scheduled to appear on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast.

“One of the things I love about President Trump is that he goes everywhere, talks to everyone and answers everyone’s questions,” said Chris Kobe. “Joe Rogan is obviously a huge podcaster and has a huge audience.”

Rogan’s podcast is known for covering everything from politics and current events to aliens and science.
