Eagles’ Jalen Hurts blows pitch after slick night against Packers

The Philadelphia Eagles certainly had a good night on Friday.

After months of waiting, the Eagles kicked off the 2024 National Football League season against the Green Bay Packers. Philadelphia started the game slowly as it tried to gain a foothold in Brazil, but it got going in time to win the game.

The Eagles were able to emerge victorious in the battle in week 1, 34-29 against the Packers. It was not easy on points. Both teams had to get used to the new field and players were slipping around on points.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts discussed the conditions on the field after the game.

“I mean, you guys saw it out there, it was kind of tough to get a handle on,” Hurts said, as transcribed by ESPN’s Tim McManus. “Definitely challenging on that field. It’s not the type of field we’re used to playing on. We’ve had that type of field before. They’ve had to play on it. I’m just glad we found a way to figure it out as a team, overcome it.”

Both teams had to deal with rough ground at points, but in the end it was a great performance in the first game of the National Football League in Brazil. The Eagles came out on top and found a way to get the job done.

A big shocker of the night, however, was Packers quarterback Jordan Love injuring his knee in the final seconds of the game. Hopefully he’ll be fully recovered and back on the field soon.
