Elon Musk joins Trump’s family photo after the election

Tech billionaire Elon Musk appeared in a photo shared on social media alongside newly elected President Donald Trump and his family, fueling speculation about Musk’s relationship and role with the new administration.

The photo, posted by Kai Trump, Donald Trump Jr.’s daughter, was titled The Whole Squad and shows Trump, his five children, five grandchildren and Musk. It is notable that first lady Melania Trump was absent from the image.

Newsweek has contacted the Trump campaign via email outside normal business hours for comment.

The image, posted to X, formerly Twitter, quickly went viral and sparked excitement and curiosity on social media.

Musk’s presence, alongside RNC co-chair Lara Trump, has raised questions about the tech billionaire’s involvement in the next administration.

His alignment and proximity with Trump’s inner circle could indicate possible collaborations or advisory roles in policy areas where Musk’s interests – such as space exploration, AI and energy – overlap with the new administration’s goals.

So far, there has been no official statement about Musk’s role or intentions with the new administration. However, the billionaire’s inclusion in such a high-profile family photo suggests that his influence will be felt in unexpected ways in the years to come.

The Trump family gathered for a reunion after the election and looked forward to another term in the White House.

Who is missing?

Trump, who won the popular vote for the first time in three attempts, was surrounded by his family, except his current wife. Trump’s third wife, Melania, went missing after speaking earlier in the day.

The former and future first lady said in a social media post after her husband’s stunning comeback victory: “The majority of Americans have entrusted us with this important responsibility. We will protect the heart of our republic – freedom,” she said.

“I expect that the citizens of our nation will once again unite in commitment to one another and rise above ideology for the sake of individual freedom, economic prosperity and security. American energy, skill, and initiative will bring our best minds together to advance our nation forever.”

Melania accompanied her husband to vote on Election Day, wearing sunglasses, and later stood proudly smiling next to him during his victory speech Tuesday night in Palm Beach, Florida.

As of Thursday morning, Trump had 295 electoral votes, compared to Vice President Kamala Harris’ 226. He also leads in the popular vote, with 72 million, compared to Harris’s 67 million. Two states, Nevada and Arizona, have not yet been called.

Melania made rare and brief appearances during the campaign. But several were notable, including one at the former president’s rally at Madison Square Garden in New York City in October.

She also gave a keynote speech at the Republican National Convention in July.

The former first lady recently embarked on a tour to promote her memoir.

During Trump’s first administration, the former first lady only moved into the White House in June.

When asked Fox & Friends Last month on the possibility of returning to the White House, Melania hinted that she would accompany her husband to Washington, D.C.

“I’m not worried because this time it’s different. I have a lot more experience, a lot more knowledge.” She added, “I’ve been to the White House before, so when you go in you know exactly what to expect.”
