Harbaugh and Michigan are under investigation by the NCAA for a sign-theft scheme that targeted former team staffer Connor Stalions. Harbaugh also faces a four-year show-cause penalty from the NCAA for an investigation into recruiting violations in 2021. The penalty runs through August 2028 and includes a one-year suspension should he return to the sport before then.

This isn’t the first time Harbaugh has taken a stand against the NCAA and in favor of player pay, as he noted in January about how college sports is “riding the same train.”

The NCAA and Harbaugh aren’t done yet, and it’s clear he’s not giving up anytime soon.

Ohio State basketball gets commitment in 2026 class

The Ohio State men’s basketball team picked up the support of undrafted 2026 prospect Alex Smith on Monday.

Smith, a power forward, is 6-foot-9 and weighs 195 pounds. He had a handful of offers, including from Cincinnati, Bowling Green and Xavier. Out of Upper Arlington, he is the Buckeyes’ second commit of the 2026 class under new coach Jake Diebler.

Ohio State also added Marcus Johnson, a promising point guard from Cleveland, to the roster.
