Former NFL player charged with driving under the influence in Franklin

FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WTVF) – Former Vandy grad & NFL quarterback Jay Cutler was charged with driving under the influence, possession of a gun and other charges.

Cutler was involved in a minor traffic accident with another vehicle rear-ended around 5 p.m. When officers arrived, Cutler’s eyes were bloodshot, slurred words, a strong odor of alcohol, and he had two weapons in his car, one of which was a loaded handgun.

He also refused to take the field sobriety test at the scene, so they obtained it from a blood sample after obtaining a blood test order.

He was booked into the Williamson County Jail and posted $5,000,000 bond and was released later that evening.
