Text sent to Nevada residents

Trump and his staff are asking attendees to bring and turn in their completed election ballots.

The campaign reached out via text message, but confirmed with us that the message came from them.

This practice is called ballot harvesting. And it used to be illegal in Nevada.

The Office of the Registrar of Voters told us that while ballot harvesting is now allowed in the Silver State, people should be careful about who they trust with their ballot.

In a statement, the office said: “We do not recommend handing your ballot to an unknown person or group. The only valid drop boxes are at voting centers during early voting and on Election Day.”
