Friday Flakes: Reported that Nebraska’s Micah Mazzccua is on a flight to San Francisco today – so won’t play for Purdue Huskers News Matt Rhule

H/T to @HuskersX for catching this.

Tim Verghese, a writer for Nebraska Rivals, said his colleague Steve Marik was at the Omaha airport this morning to board a flight to Chicago, where he also saw Micah Mazccua at the airport, but boarded a flight to San Francisco.

For those of you who don’t know, Micah Mazzzcua was the starting guard for Nebraska at the beginning of the season, but hasn’t played since due to a coach’s decision, meaning it wasn’t an injury.

There was hope that he was working to get back into the good graces of the staff and Matt Rhule even indicated he was moving in that direction.

The most positive explanation is that he is simply not yet on the 74-player travel list for the Purdue game and wanted to see family or friends this weekend. However, Huskers.com says his hometown is Philadelphia, PA.

The most negative explanation is: maybe he’s not on the team anymore.

Nebraska Volleyball’s serve reception was the most important part of their season turnaround and early success.

The Huskers (10-1) were humbled early this season. In their fourth game they were swept by SMU on the road in Dallas, Texas. The Mustangs were better than NU in every area, especially serving. Nebraska allowed seven aces.

The 3-2-1: Nebraska has questions to answer heading into Purdue
As Nebraska prepares to head to Purdue, the Huskers face questions about both the offensive line and stopping defense.

In this week’s 3-2-1 column, we covered that and more with three things we learned, two questions, and one prediction.

Steve Sarkisian still unsure about Texas’ starting QB for SEC debut – ESPN

The Cowboys games under Mike McCarthy have shown a clear trend – which could doom or delight Giants – Yahoo Sports
As Tom Brady watched the Dallas Cowboys offense try to climb out of a 28-6 hole in the third quarter, the seven-time Super Bowl champion acknowledged that his analysis would sound trite.

“To say, ‘We want to start fast,’ well, of course we know that,” Brady said.
