When Micah Mazccua arrived in Lincolnhe made an almost immediate impression on his Nebraska football teammates. However, since the start of the season, he has missed as many games as he has played. And now there seems to be at least one indication that he’s going to miss quite a few more.

If there is no explanation as to why he is not with the team, it is possible that the monster offensive lineman might be on its way to the door. You have to hope there is an explanation that is acceptable to the coaching staff.

According to Rivals’ Steve Marik, Indiana Mazzccua was spotted boarding a plane to San Francisco from Omaha while the rest of the Nebraska football team was headed to West Lafayette.

The assumption being made by many in the Husker fanbase is that the offensive lineman could finally be done for good with Matt Rhule and company. It’s a question that will almost certainly be asked after Saturday’s game, but for now it’s a bit of a mystery. If not the what, then the why.

Mazzccua has already run into problems this season. He missed the game against Northern Iowa in what was a surprising addition to the injury list. However, after the match, Rhule said he was not injured and was “working on some things.”

He was initially last week ruled out against Illinois for the same problems, but was eventually allowed to be with the team and even do a warm-up. However, he didn’t appear against the Illinis either.

There were no comments about the weather or not. Mazzccua was available for Purdue. It was thought that perhaps he was. Unless he made a special, coach-approved trip to San Francisco before joining the Purdue team, he won’t be part of Nebraska’s football team next Saturday, at the very least.
