Garret Rangel would start at QB for Oklahoma State Football vs. BYU

PROVO, Utah – Redshirt sophomore Garret Rangel will start as Oklahoma State’s quarterback at BYU on Friday night.

Seventh-year senior Alan Bowman had started all six games before Friday but was benched in two of the previous three games. OSU coach Mike Gundy avoided announcing a starter when he spoke to the media earlier this week.

This will be the fifth start of Rangel’s career, although three of those came after Spencer Sanders was injured in 2022 when Rangel was a true freshman.

He also started the season opener in 2023, when OSU was experimenting with its three-quarterback rotation.
