The reunion of Derrick Henry and Marcus Mariota will get Titans fans in the mood

Years after last playing together with the Tennessee Titans in 2019, Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry and Washington Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota recently reunited.

The Ravens and Commanders faced off on Sunday in a Week 6 matchup at M&T Bank Stadium, with Baltimore prevailing over Washington 30-23. After the game was over, Mariota and Henry met on the field and hugged.

The reunion between the former teammates was about as wholesome as you can get, with Henry clearly very excited to see Mariota. And along the way, we felt like we were remembering how exciting they were with the Titans.

Here is a transcript of the exchange between the former Titans. You can watch the video below.

Henry: “Marcus, how are you?! How are you, boy?! How are you?”

Mariota: “You’re still doing your thing.”

Henry: “Marcus, my dog! Oh, Marcus, what’s wrong?”

Mariota: “My man! Are you okay?”

Henry: “Hey, congratulations on your (new baby).”

Mariota: “Ah, thank you. My little man. Little man.”

Hendrik: “There you go!”

Mariota, the former No. 2 overall pick of the Titans in 2015 who now backs up rookie sensation Jayden Daniels, once looked like he would be a star for the franchise, but injuries helped derail his career.

The Titans also did Mariota no favors with mediocre supporting casts and multiple offensive coordinators, setting him up for failure.

Henry, however, had very different results. He became a superstar at Tennessee and is rightly considered one of the greatest players in franchise history. Unfortunately, Henry went on to play for the Ravens in 2024.

Henry recently surpassed 10,000 yards rushing for his career to cement his place in the Hall of Fame and is on pace to rush for 2,000 yards in a season for the second time in his career, showing that at age 30 he still has plenty left in the tank.
