Health officials warn of caution as smoke from California wildfires moves into the valley

CLARK COUNTY (KTNV) — The Clark County Department of Environment and Sustainability (CCDES) said residents can expect smoke from California wildfires to enter the valley Tuesday and into the coming days.

CCDES said the inhaled smoke will push ozone levels to unhealthy levels for people with respiratory issues and sensitivities. They said you should minimize your time outdoors if you fall into these groups.

Current air quality in parts of the valley is dropping to moderate levels, above 50 AQI.

For reference, anything between 1 and 50 AQ1 is considered a “Good” air quality level. Anything between 51 and 100 is “Moderate.”
