Heavy winds are moving dust and debris across Las Vegas this weekend

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Strong winds are blowing through the Las Vegas Valley on Saturday afternoon.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a high wind warning for Clark County that will last until early Sunday morning.

In Henderson, blowing dust can be seen for miles as strong winds pick up.

The NWS said southwest winds of up to 60 mph are expected. They also warn of wind gusts up to 80 mph near the peaks and up to 60 mph in Red Rock Canyon.

“Travel will be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles,” the weather service warning said.

At the time of this reporting, the high wind warning remains in force until 4am on Sunday morning.
