CASPER, Wyo. — The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a high wind warning for Natrona County through Wednesday afternoon.

According to NWS in Riverton forecasts, wind gusts could reach around 50 mph today. Winds could reach around 60 mph Wednesday morning.

The NWS in Riverton warns that high winds could blow down trees or power lines, causing other damage. Motorists are advised to avoid traveling in high winds if possible, especially in light, conspicuous vehicles. Light, conspicuous vehicles include RVs, campers, trucks, and other vehicles with large sides. When high winds are blowing, the risk of being blown down is much greater.

A high wind warning is also in effect for the Green Mountains and Rattlesnake Range areas.
