High winds sweep debris and cancellations across Las Vegas Valley

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – High winds are blowing through the valley, pushing debris onto the roads and causing a few cancellations.

The wind advisory was issued at 11pm on Thursday and will remain in effect until midnight on Friday. The gusty winds are expected to bring colder temperatures to the valley for much of the morning and early afternoon.

Temperatures are expected to drop back below 70 degrees later in the day.

The PGA Tour, which hosts the Shriners Children’s Open in Las Vegas this weekend, announced a four-hour delay to the start of round two. Golfers are now expected to tee off at 10:55 am

The City of Henderson has canceled the Montagna Park farmers market. The Ward 4 Halloween Trunk-or-Treat and Movie in the Park events at the Durango YMCA have also been canceled.

As of 8 a.m., 58 flights have been delayed and only 2 canceled from Harry Reid International Airport
