How UW-Madison ‘Bachelorette’ Jenn Tran fared

Tuesday was ‘Hair Metal Night’ on ‘Dancing with the Stars’. But “The Bachelorette,” Jenn Tran, said every night was a hair metal night when she was studying abroad in Europe.

Tran transferred to the University of Wisconsin-Madison midway through her sophomore year.

While abroad, she said on “DWTS,” she studied food, art and Italian men.

“I like to keep this wild side in a box because once she’s free, she’s crazy,” she told professional dance partner Sasha Farber.

“I’m scared,” he replied.

Tran channeled “wild Jenn” for her Paso Doble with Farber to Europe’s “The Final Countdown.”

But would that get her until next week? After the “Hair Metal” dances of “Soul Train Night” on Monday and Tuesday, there was a double elimination.

Here’s a recap of how Tran and the other stars fared on Tuesday, and which two contestants were removed from the show:

What the judges had to say about Jenn Tran and Sasha Farber’s dance performance on Tuesday

“Talk about electrification,” said judge Bruno Tonioli. “I think you blew my fuses with the Paso Doble… You put everything a Paso Doble needs into it, Sasha. EVERYTHING. Thank you very much.’

Because Tran is “really unpredictable,” judge Carrie Ann Inaba said, it’s always exciting when she performs.

“You’re really dancing on the edge and I’m never quite sure if you’re going to hit it, but you’re hitting it!” Inaba said.

Judge Derek Hough said Tran had a “beautiful, strong composure” during her performance Tuesday that projected power onto the dance floor. And he shouted at those impressive knee walks she did across the floor.

“There’s no doubt about it, you guys make a steamy couple,” said guest judge Gene Simmons of KISS. ‘Sasha is a great professional, she does it every day. But all the pressure is on you. And I must say that not only are you beautiful, but you have also achieved.”

According to multiple reports, Simmons is facing backlash for comments he made during his “DWTS” appearance to contestants, especially the female celebrities and dancers.

For their Paso Doble, Tran and Farber received a score of 31 out of 40, with an eight from Inaba, an eight from Derek, an eight from Tonioli and a seven from Simmons.

That’s the same total they received Monday night, giving them a combined score of 62/80. That put them in third place on the leaderboard, next to Olympic gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik and his professional partner, Rylee Arnold.
