Will Invest 94L impact Florida?

This chart shows the latest developments with Invest 94L in the Central Atlantic.

National Hurricane Center (NHC) forecasters say Invest 94L remains over the central Atlantic Ocean and is a well-defined area of low pressure producing precipitation and thunderstorms.

The NHC said Invest 94L remains in a dry air environment and development of the system remains unlikely over the next two days. However, the system is expected to continue moving westward into an environment more favorable for development, and a tropical depression could form as it approaches or nears the Leeward Islands and the Caribbean Sea.

If you plan to travel to popular warm-weather destinations such as Puerto Rico or the US Virgin Islands, you should keep an eye on the weather forecast.

For the millions of people in Florida who are still recovering from back-to-back major hurricanesHelene and Milton, Invest 94L does not appear to be impacting the Sunshine State at this time. However, keep checking the forecast for any changes.

The NHC said the chances of the system developing over the next two days are low and the chances of it developing over the next week are medium.

Area to watch in the Caribbean to bring rain to Central America

This graph shows the latest news about an area of disturbed weather in the western Caribbean Sea.
(FOX Weather)

The NHC said a broad area of low pressure could develop over the western Caribbean Sea off the coast of Central America by mid to late this week.

If the system remains over warm water as it slowly moves west-northwest toward northern Central America, some gradual development is possible.

The NHC said that regardless of development, locally heavy rainfall is possible in parts of Central America later this week. The chance that the system will develop in the coming week is small.
