Rumors are swirling that Macaulay Culkin and Catherine O’Hara could return for a brand new Home Alone movie.

The franchise consists of six fantastically festive films, two of which focus on the character Kevin, played by Macaulay Culkin – sadly rumors of a seventh have been debunked.

Who is Macaulay Culkin and who did he play in Home Alone?

Macaulay rose to fame playing Kevin McCallister in the first Home Alone film in 1990.

He was only ten at the time.

The film, which is about eight-year-old Kevin who is forgotten during a family vacation, puts many of us in the Christmas spirit.

Abandoned, Kevin is left alone to protect his home from bandits, Harry and Marv, while his family tries to return to him for Christmas.

Spoiler alert – Kevin’s mother Kate, played by Catherine O’Hara, manages to get home to her son just in time for Christmas.

The whole family then comes back together and all is well.

Macaulay also returned for Home Alone 2: Lost In New York (1992), but although the franchise continued, this was the end of the actor’s Home Alone period.

What is Cabin Alone?

On November 4, 2024, @YodaBBYABY shared a poster on Facebook promoting a new Home Alone movie, titled Cabin Alone.

The movie poster shows Macaulay and his “mother” Catherine.

The post details a storyline in which Kevin and Kate plan a Christmas vacation at a remote cabin, but are ultimately threatened by old adversaries Harry and Marv.

The synopsis claims that the film sees the mother-and-son combo joining forces to defend the cabin.

It reads: “With snow-covered traps, outrageous jokes and high-stakes holiday antics, they turn the quiet cabin into a thrilling battlefield that will have you laughing and cheering.”

The caption then claims that Cabin Alone will release on Disney+ in December 2024.

However, a closer look at the Facebook page shows that all the messages are completely false.

YODA BBY ABY says, “I’m only here to eat frogs, lift rocks and be satirical.

“The page is 100% satire and fake news.”

Unfortunately, it is very unlikely that Macaulay or Catherine will return for another Home Alone film.

The Home Alone tour

It’s not all bad news, however.

In September 2024, it was announced that Macaulay will embark on a Home Alone tour on Saturday, November 30.

The tour kicks off in Buffalo, New York, and continues with 14 more shows in the US as follows:

• Evansville, Indiana – December 4
• Indianapolis, Indiana – December 5
• Rosemont, IL – December 6
• Milwaukee, WI – December 7
• Detroit, Michigan – December 8

• Reading, Pennsylvania – December 12
• Newark, New Jersey – December 13
• Wallingford, Connecticut – December 14
• Medford, Massachusetts – December 15 (afternoon and evening show)

The series is called Home Alone: ​​A Nostalgic Night with Macaulay Culkin.

The tour synopsis reads: “Relive the iconic scenes and heartwarming moments from Home Alone on the big screen, then dive deep into the behind-the-scenes stories and insights with Macaulay Culkin himself.

“Hear about his experiences on set, his favorite memories of filming and his thoughts on what made this film such a beloved Christmas classic.”

The tour officially ends on Sunday, December 15, 2024.
