Everyone calm down, Macaulay Culkin will do that not returning for a new Home Alone movie called Cabin Alone in 2024.

The internet went a little wild when a fan made a poster – which admittedly isn’t exactly convincing – to promote a new Home Alone movie called Cabin Alone, but alas, that’s all it was.

A fan named YODA BBY ABY made a poster showing the now 44-year-old Macaulay wearing a Christmas sweater in a festive cabin, next to Catherine O’Hara as his mother, and wrote: ‘NEW HOME ALONE!!! KEVIN AND HIS MOM!!!

“This Christmas, Kevin McCallister and his mother arrive early at their family’s remote cabin, only to discover that the rest of the family’s flight has been delayed.

‘As Marv and Harry target the supposedly empty cabin, Kevin and his mother join forces to defend it in the ultimate showdown.

“With snow-covered traps, outrageous pranks and high-stakes holiday antics, they turn the quiet cabin into a thrilling battleground that will have you laughing and cheering.

“Prepare for a wild holiday adventure with Cabin Alone, streaming on Disney+ this December!”

However, no official announcements or trailers have been distributed by Disney+ and the poster is entirely fan-made.

While Home Alone was rebooted in 2021 in Home Sweet Home Alone, as far as we know, no further projects are in the works.

Cabin Alone wasn’t meant to be this way, but that doesn’t mean fans aren’t trying to manifest a return to the beloved festive franchise, as many have responded to the poster with their Christmas wishes.

‘There has to be another Home Alone and Kevin is now the father!!’ wrote fan Patricia Torrens, while Rachael Taylor added, “This sounds so healing it’s a great idea.”

Others laughed at how crazy the internet went over the poster, as Alfie Jenner wrote: ‘The amount of people who fall for this is astonishing.’

The original 1990 Home Alone film has become one of the most beloved Christmas films of all time, grossing approximately $476 million (£367 million) worldwide against a production cost of $18 million (£13.9 million).

Directed by Chris Columbus, Home Alone follows a troubled eight-year-old who is accidentally left at home by his family over Christmas and is forced to fend off a pair of burglars who try to break into his house.

The success was followed by Home Alone 2: Lost in New York in 1992, when Kevin accidentally boarded a plane to New York where, you guessed it, there are burglars.

Home Alone 3 saw another boy, Alex Pruitt – played by Alex D Linz – plagued by criminals, while Home Alone 4: Taking Back the House was a bit of a critical flop and saw French Stewart take on the role of Kevin.

2012’s Home Alone: The Holiday Heist starring Christian Martyn as Finn Baxter was also not well received, as was the 2021 film Home Sweet Home Alone, which was set in a vaguely similar universe to its predecessors but essentially unrelated to it. had to make, only has a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 15%. Ouch.

Child star Macaulay is currently taking Home Alone on tour across the US, in a ‘nostalgic evening’ with a screening of the original film and a Q&A.
