Jake Paul plans to call out Canelo (again) after Mike Tyson fight – ‘This moment will prove that I am the face of boxing’

“El Gallo” is already looking forward to it.

Heavyweight boxing legend Mike Tyson vs. YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul finally airs this week (Friday, November 15, 2024) from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, streamed live on a historic Netflix broadcast.

While Paul has a killer in front of him, albeit a 58-year-old killer, he is already looking to the future and planning for his post-fight call-up.

“Yes, I have a call, it’s Canelo,” Paul said at the time Sean O’Malley asked if he had a name in mind. “This moment will prove that I am the face of boxing, the biggest attraction. Me vs. Canelo at 200 pounds for the cruiserweight championship of the world is the biggest fight – maybe even bigger than me vs. Tyson. It makes so much sense. You know, Canelo is on his way out, he wants a payday, and I want to show the world that all the things I said about beating Canelo are actually true.

“I will get the biggest shock in the sport of boxing, and we will fight to see who is actually the face of boxing, because after this event I am going to claim it. I broke his gate record in Texas; I’m beating ticket sales. The numbers and the data show it. I have more followers than him and so on. And this will be the most watched fight of this century, so I will be the new money magnet,” Paul concluded.

Paul has been angling for an Alvarez fight since his first fight with Tyron Woodley in 2021 and has since made mention of the potential mega-fight.

Alvarez has agreed to fight ‘El Gallo’, but only after he’s done with boxing, which apparently won’t happen for a few years.

Still, perhaps a viral knockout of ‘Iron’ will anger Mike Alvarez enough to fight the 27-year-old boxer at The Sphere.

Time will tell.
