Transformers One is now available on digital platforms such as Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV+, just a month after its theatrical release. If you missed Optimus Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee and the rest of the Transformers on the big screen, here’s how to watch it Transformers One from the comfort of your home.

Transformers One is the first fully CGI animated Transformers film in the history of the franchise. The film premiered last month in theaters on September 20, 2024 and is set 300 million years before the live-action films. Transformers One tells the untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron. Although they are best known as enemies, they were once close friends (like brothers) who ultimately changed the fate of Cybertron, according to the film’s synopsis.

Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry, Scarlett Johansson and Keegan-Michael Key provide the voices for Orion Pax/Optimus Prime, D-16/Megatron, Elita-1 and B-127/Bumblebee, respectively. In an interview with Men’s Journal, Key expressed his desire to return for future films, which producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura previously confirmed is already in concept.

“I had a blast working on this film and working with the director I’ve worked with before,” Key said Men’s magazine early October. “If they made four more, I’d want to be in all of them. You know, if they make another one, I’d love to be there.”

Despite a soft opening debut at the box office, the film was a surprise hit with critics and audiences alike. Transformers One has a solid critic score of 89% and a near-perfect audience rating of 98% on Rotten Tomatoes. This surpasses last year’s live-action film Transformers: Rise of the Beastswhich earned only 51% from critics, although fans still gave the film a 91% positive rating.

How to watch Transformers One At home

Transformers One is now available to stream on digital video-on-demand sites such as Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+ and Fandango At Home. You can buy Transformers One for $24.99 or rent the movie for $19.99 (for a 48-hour period).

The animated film will also launch on December 17 on 4K UHD, 4K SteelBook and Blu-ray.

When Will Transformers One Are you streaming on Paramount+?

Transformers One will eventually stream on Paramount+. The film is expected to hit theaters about two to three months after its release date, or sometime in November or December 2024.

For comparison: A quiet place, day one premiered in theaters on June 28 and landed on Paramount’s streaming service about two months later on August 27. Mean girls had a shorter theatrical-to-streaming period of 53 days (less than two months), compared to last year’s Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning part one was released on the platform approximately three months after its theatrical premiere. To watch Transformers One once it’s released on Paramount+, viewers will need to sign up for a subscription to the streaming platform. The Paramount+ Essential subscription costs $7.99 per month (with limited ads), while the Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscription costs $12.99 per month.
