Tori Spelling Says Brian Austin Green Inspired Her to Join ‘DWTS’ (Exclusive)

Tori Spelling Reveals Which of Her Famous Friends Inspired Her to Finally Move On Dancing with the stars.

Spelling spoke to PEOPLE on Wednesday, September 4, after it was announced that she would be joining season 33 as Pasha Pashkov’s partner. The actress admits that she always doubted her ability to compete in the dance competition, but she says she’s excited.

“It had been offered to me before and I wanted to do it so badly – I’m such a big fan – and I was just too scared to ever say yes,” she confesses.

This time Spelling says that one of her Beverly Hills, 90210 fellow players encouraged her to take up the challenge.

“Brian Austin Green knew it from the moment I got that phone call,” she says. “So the whole time I was like, ‘I don’t know if I should do this or not,’ but he said, ‘You’re going to be amazing, you have to do this.'”

The Troop Beverly Hills alum’s connection to Green, who appeared in season 30 of DWTS with fiancée Sharna Burgess, also gave her a reason to join the show. Spelling says she hasn’t gotten any dancing tips from Burgess yet, but she has consulted her while she waited to find her partner.

“From the beginning I was like, ‘Sharna, who do you think I’m going to get as a partner?'” Spelling explains. “And she literally went around to every single one of them and said, ‘He’s amazing and he would work for you,’ and when she gave me the details she said, ‘This one would be perfect for you,'” Spelling continues, pointing to Pashkov.

“When I walked in (and saw Pashkov), I thought, ‘Oh my God, Sharna was right!’” she adds.
