Prime Video has ordered Silent rivera thriller-drama series starring and executive produced by John Krasinski (Jack Ryan by Tom Clancy) and Matthew Rhys (The Americans). The project comes from Krasinski and Allyson Seeger’s Sunday Night, whose first-look deal with Amazon MGM Studios has been extended.

Told through the lens of two men – played by Krasinski and Rhys – whose lives are much more connected than they realize. Silent river explores the cracks in small-town America after a serial killer is discovered among them.

Krasinski, who will direct the pilot with several additional episodes, has once again assembled a team with two key figures Jack Ryan alums Silent river. The new series is created by Aaron Rabin, who will serve as executive producer, with Andrew Bernstein serving as director and executive producer.

Bernstein served as executive producer and director on Season 2 of the Prime Video series Jack Ryan by Tom Clancystarring and executive produced by Krasinski, while Rabin served as co-EP and writer for season 4. Additionally, Bernstein will direct the upcoming film. Jack Ryan film for the streamer based on a script by Rabin. Krasinski reprises his title role in that film, produced by Sunday Night. Bernstein previously directed Rhys in two episodes of FX’s The Americans.

Krasinski, Seeger and Alexa Ginsburg will executive produce Silent river for Sunday evening. The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios, where Sunday Night has had a first-look deal since 2019.

Most recently, Krasinski was released IF for Paramount in which he starred, wrote, produced and directed. He previously wrote, directed and starred in the Oscar-nominated film A quiet placewhich spawned a successful horror franchise. The office alum, who also created and hosted the hit web series Some good newsis repped by WME and Schreck Rose.

Rhys is shooting for the Netflix limited series The beast in me opposite Claire Danes. It was recently packed up On the way to zero, a limited series adaptation of the Agatha Christie classic for Britbox and BBC1. Rhys plays George Carlin in Jason Reitman’s feature film Saturday evening and also wrapped the upcoming feature film Hello away opposite Rosamund Pike. An Emmy winner for The Americans and Golden Globe nominee for HBO’s Perry Mason, Rhys is represented by CAA, Anonymous Content and United Agents.

Prolific TV director Bernstein recently directed several episodes of Welcome to Derry for HBO and the first season of The diplomat for Netflix. At HBO he was also executive producer and director The Nevers and Jason Bateman’s The outsider. He was also one of the main directors of the Netflix hit Ozarkstarring and executive produced by Bateman. Bernstein is repped by CAA, Industry Entertainment Partners and McKuin Frankel Whitehead.

Rabin’s specification Towers was Blacklisted while Andrew Mittman produced through his 1.21 banner. He recently rewrote Nobody 2 in production for Universal, where he is currently writing another feature film. Rabin also edited the graphic novel Old hauntings as a feature for AWA Studios. He is repped by Untitled Entertainment, CAA and Gendler Kelly.
