Juan Soto continues the Yankees’ playoff showing with a key Game 2 homer

Juan Soto impressed in the Yankees’ Game 2 battle against the Dodgers on Saturday night in Los Angeles.

With two outs and no one in the third inning, the Bombers slugger blasted a long home run to right field off Dodgers starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto to tie the game at 1-1.

It was the fourth home run of the postseason for Soto, who is expected to draw a lot of expensive interest from suitors in free agency this season.

Soto also hit the game-winning three-run homer in the 10th inning of Game 5 of the ALCS against the Guardians to advance the Yankees to the World Series.

Soto’s explosion followed the Dodgers’ Tommy Edman’s solo homer to left field in the second inning off Carlos Rodon.

Teoscar Hernandez answered Soto’s shot with a two-run homer in the bottom half of the frame, giving the Dodgers a two-run lead.

Freddie Freeman, the newly minted Yankees killer, followed Hernandez’s explosion with a solo homer of his own to give the Dodgers a 4-1 lead after three innings.
