Alabama And South Carolina are set to do battle as both look to bounce back from last week’s disappointing losses. And for the Crimson Tide: wide receiver status Kobe Prentice looms large.

According to the SEC injury report released on game day, Kobe Prentice will not play against the Gamecocks. He is excluded.

Also a fellow recipient Kendrick Law is listed as a game time decision.

Coach earlier this week Kalen DeBoer had provided an update on bothseemingly hopeful that they would both be available this weekend. That will obviously not be the case now.

“They’re both here training,” DeBoer said. “On course as we thought they should be, and we are making progress heading into the weekend. I wouldn’t say they’re at full speed yet, but they’re at the pace we were hoping for. So getting some work in, some individual and some teamwork there as well. Things are moving forward and they are doing well.”

Besides Kobe Prentice being out and Kendrick Law being a last minute decision, linebacker Yhonzae Pierre will miss the match.

“Yes, Yhonzae will not be with us this weekend just because of his injury,” DeBoer said. “I’m glad you brought that up. I didn’t go into that, I didn’t know the information until later yesterday afternoon about where exactly that was. I expect him to be out this weekend. But then we’ll see.”
