Lady Gaga thanks fans for strong response to “Die With A Smile”

The duo released “Die With a Smile” and performed their tender ballad in Los Angeles last week

Lady Gaga thanks her fans for their strong response to “Die With A Smile,” her romantic duet with Bruno Mars and her first single in two years.

“It’s so incredibly important to me to see fans all over the world celebrating this music. It’s beautiful to see the lyrics of the song touch your heart and the video create such a huge wave of dancing and joy. I’m so grateful for it,” Gaga wrote on social media on Thursday.

“Thank you, thank you, thank you for loving our song, I truly love you, and I hope the message of love we shared continues to create special moments for all of you in your lives — I know it does every day in mine,” Gaga added. “The power of music is great and your love for this song reminded me of that.”

The artists debuted their duet last week at the first-ever event at the new Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, where they performed “Die With A Smile” after announcing the song for days.

“Die With A Smile” has continued to gain popularity since its release last week and is now a strong contender for a top 10 debut on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart next week. As Billboard noted, while the song had a modest first-day performance, its streams have been steadily climbing this week, with a 34 percent increase from Sunday to Monday alone.

Gaga’s single comes as she prepares for the release of Joker: Two-Fold Filmwhere she stars opposite Joaquin Phoenix as Harley Quinn, the Clown Prince of Crime’s love interest in many of the Batman comic books, television series, and films. Given the song’s title, fans have speculated whether “Die With A Smile” is related to the upcoming film.
