The 2024 Primetime Emmy Awards were presented on Sunday evening.

The Bear has earned four wins. Winners include three of the show’s cast members: Jeremy Allen White (Best Lead Actor in a Comedy Series), Liza Colón-Zayas (Best Supporting Actress, the first Latina to ever win in this category), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Best Supporting Actor). Christopher Storer won Best Directing for a Comedy Series for the show. With its total Emmy wins in 2024, The Bear sets a new record for most wins in a single season for a comedy with 11, surpassing its own total from last year when it won 10.

Baby reindeer picked up four wins, including best limited or anthology series. Richard Gadd was named best actor in a limited or anthology series or movie and also took home the Emmy for writing in the genre. His co-star Jessica Gunning won best supporting actress in a limited or anthology series or movie.

Shogun has three wins: Anna Sawai won Best Actress in a Drama Series, while Hiroyuki Sanada was named Best Actor. Frederick EO Toye won Best Director for the show.

Elsewhere in the acting categories, Elizabeth Debicki won the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for The Crownwhile Billy Crudup won Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for The morning show. Jean Smart won the award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series for Tricks. Lamorne Morris won the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, while Jodie Foster won the award for Best Actress in a Genre for True Detective: Nightland.

Last week tonight with John Oliver was named Best Scripted Variety Series, beating Saturday Night Livewhile The traitors dethroned eternal winner RuPaul’s Drag Race as best reality competition program. The daily show won the Emmy for best talk series.

In the writing categories, Alex Edelman: Especially for us won for Best Variety Special, while Will Smith won for his work on the drama series Slow horses.

Steven Zaillian won the award for Best Director for a Limited Series or Anthology Series or Movie for Rijpley.

During the ceremony, the Governors Award was also presented to Greg Berlanti by Matt Bomer and Joshua Jackson.

Eugene and Dan Levy are hosting the 76th annual festivities, which will air live on ABC from the Peacock Theater in L.A. The father-son duo have previously said they plan to take a “softer approach” to their hosting. “Just a tribute to television, certainly the nominees, but also to the medium that gave us both our start,” Eugene said in a recent interview. “It always hits me in a funny way when jokes are made at the expense of the people who are nominated — they’ve worked so hard for it, and it’s really their night, and you have to have enough respect for the awards show itself. Otherwise, why are we here?”

The Emmys production team said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter last week. “Sometimes at awards shows there’s a little bit of meanness or inside baseball, but the 75th Emmys really gave us a chance to celebrate TV in a way that I think everyone really connects to the nostalgia,” says Dionne Harmon. “For this show, we wanted to focus on characters that you’ve loved over the years — your favorite TV moms, cops, villains or coaches all up on stage together. So you get that nostalgia with a new twist.”

The Primetime Emmys are awarded one week after the Creative Arts Emmys. Check out the winners of Night 1 and Night 2.

On the way to the ceremonies, Shogun led the nominations and also topped the Creative Arts ceremonies last week with 14 wins. Other top nominees include The Bear, Only Murders in the Building, True Detective: Night Country And The Crown.
