Six months later Love is blind stars Marissa George And Ramesses Prashad When they called it quits, they started communicating again, but a second round of romance was out of the question.

“We saw each other a few times after that (we broke up). I had a really hard time with the breakup, as you can imagine from the scene where I was crying and everything,” Marissa, 32, shared Glamour in an interview published on Wednesday, October 23. “It probably took me six months to get back on track and really move on.”

She added, “I saw him a few times when I was in DC, and there was one time we talked on the phone for like 8 and a half (or) 9 hours one day, and I thought that we would come back. then together.”

Marissa and Ramses, 35, got engaged during Love is blind season 7, filmed in October 2023 and aired on Netflix earlier this month. Marissa and Ramses seemed to have an effortless connection – until a few disagreements arose after the pod. Ramses had a strong aversion to military veterans like Marissa, and ruled out the possibility of having sex with a condom or while she was on her period.

In episode 11, Ramses expressed his hesitation to walk down the aisle. The next episode started with Ramses canceling their wedding plans. Marissa sobbed visibly when Ramesses broke up with her, claiming she felt blindsided.

According to Marissa, Ramses’ behavior changed after he met a close family friend two days before the breakup. The acquaintance also still had a close bond with his ex-wife, who would get married in the same month. That meeting made Ramses realize that the divorce had really hurt his ex-partner.

After Marissa moved on, she and Ramses started calling regularly.

“(In) February or March I asked him if he wanted to get back together,” Marissa said. “I’m not really ashamed to say that because I’m someone who says, ‘If you feel it, you feel it, what’s the worst that can happen?’ And he says, ‘No.’ So after that we stopped communication.”

Marissa further claimed to the outlet that she still doesn’t have the proper clarity on what happened that caused Ramses to abruptly call off their wedding.

“Throughout the whole breakup – which made it worse – he couldn’t really give me a reason. To this day, I don’t know if he really has a good reason,” Marissa said Glamour. “I think he tried to establish certain things, like I listened to podcasts in the morning and I sing in the shower. But the moment we broke up, he was like, ‘I don’t feel at peace anymore, and I feel like our energy is gone and I’m going to hurt you in five years, but I love you and want be with you. you, but this is going too fast. ”

She also tried to find a middle ground that wouldn’t end in total heartbreak.

“I’m like, ‘Okay, let’s just not move fast. You stay in DC, I’ll stay in Baltimore. But stick together,” Marissa, who is currently in law school, reminded the magazine. “And he said, ‘No.’ And that’s very difficult to understand: how can you love this person so much, when he doesn’t even want to be with you? Then I think: it’s me, because he says it’s my energy.”

She added: “I have offered not to get married. We can stay involved, or we can do everything on our own timeline. We don’t have to move right away. That was never the plan anyway. We don’t have to be engaged yet. It was a hard no and that’s what really tore me up.”

Ramses roundly shooting down Marissa’s attempts at reconciliation made her “really question everything she ever believed in.”

Marissa and Ramses will meet again at the Love is blind reunion, which airs on Netflix on Wednesday, October 30 at 9 PM ET.
