Firefighters are on the scene of a large fire at a tank farm at 516 S 25th W Ave.

Fire officials said Charles Page Boulevard is closed between South Gilcrease Museum Road and South 33rd West Avenue. On Tuesday morning, black smoke could be seen over a distance of several kilometers.

A TFD representative said they are trying to determine what exactly is on fire. Axel Royal employees in the area told first responders it likely started around the petroleum tank farm. Axel Royal produces hundreds of different types of lubricating oils and greases, according to the company’s website.

Drivers are being asked to find alternative travel routes while firefighters work to bring the fire under control. TFD said hazmat crews are on scene and they are asking citizens to stay away from the area.
