MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) – Manatee County has released information about a disruption to its drinking water supply.

The county says “the Utilities Department may interrupt drinking water service to the island towns of Anna Maria Island, Holmes Beach, Bradenton Beach and the town of Longboat Key.”

The province is taking this precaution because of the expected potential storm surge, which could pollute the water.

Depending on the course of the storm, the water could be shut down as early as 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

Manatee County will notify those affected through the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System.
