Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears: Key information and discussion about the first quarter

We’re just thirty minutes away from kickoff on the shores of Lake Michigan when the Minnesota Vikings wrap up their three-game road trip with an NFC North clash with the Chicago Bears. Here you will find all the information you need to be informed about today’s match.

Date and time: Sunday, November 24, 2024, 12:00 noon Central Time

Location: Soldiers Field, Chicago, Illinois

Television coverage: KMSP-9 in the Twin Cities, FOX affiliates nationwide, YouTube TV NFL Sunday Ticket

Radio coverage: Vikings Radio NetworkSiriusXM Channel 381 (Vikings Feed), SiriusXM App Channel 820

Line: Vikings -5.5, over/under 39.5

Chris’ prediction: Vikings 28, Titans 13

Three keys

1) Press Caleb Williams – Williams, the No. 1 overall pick in last April’s draft, has had issues this season, and much of that has stemmed from his tendency to hold onto the football too long. Brian Flores has had the opportunity to go against a lot of young quarterbacks this season, and none of them have fared very well against this defense. Hopefully that trend will continue this afternoon in Chicago.

2) Be smart on offense -The Vikings haven’t had any issues moving the football in recent weeks, but they have had issues turning the ball over. Against a team like the Bears, turning the ball over allows a must-beat team to hang around longer than you’d like, and if the Vikings can be smart and hold on to the ball, they should have the advantage.

3) Win on special teams -Similarly, special teams could give the Bears a chance to hang around and keep this game close. For the most part, the special teams for the Vikings have been pretty solid this season (with a few exceptions), and that should continue this afternoon.

That should be all you need to be ready for this, ladies and gentlemen. As we always do, we’ll have a new Open Thread at the start of each quarter, so keep your eyes peeled for that and keep the discussion moving accordingly.

We’re hoping that we can get together in about three hours and talk about how good it feels to get to 9-2, secure a winning record, and keep pace in the division and conference.

SKOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL VIKINGS!!!!
