Minnesota Weather: Rain showers Wednesday, warming up to round out the week

In the Twin Cities, expect afternoon rain showers with temperatures in the low 40s.

Wednesday forecast

The Twin Cities metro will start the day dry and quiet, with rain showers expected by the afternoon. Temperatures will remain in the mid 40s, with a high of 46 degrees and southeast winds of 10-15+ mph.

Clouds will increase during the morning, while showers will arrive from the west. The heaviest rainfall will likely remain in central parts of Minnesota and near the western edges of the metro. Scattered showers may reach the Twin Cities by afternoon and last into the evening before gradually subsiding.

Overnight conditions will remain mostly cloudy with light winds and mild temperatures around 40 degrees.

Looking ahead

Thursday should be a calm day with partly sunny skies and a high of 49 degrees. Friday looks pleasant with light winds, plenty of sunshine and a high of 53 degrees.

As the week progresses, temperatures will remain in the 50s until early next week. A weather system could bring another chance of rain on Tuesday, along with cooler temperatures in the second half of next week.
