More than 5,000 PG&E customers affected by power outages in the Santa Clara region

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA – More than 5,000 PG&E customers in Santa Clara County lost power Sunday afternoon due to a public safety outage, according to the utility’s website.

Power is out for 5,882 PG&E customers, according to the PG&E Outage Map as of 1:30 p.m. The map is at https://pgealerts.alerts.pge.com/outage-tools/outage-map/.

PG&E warned last week that up to 28,000 customers in several counties may have to have their power turned off for safety reasons due to dry and windy weather conditions that pose the risk of wildfires starting and spreading.
