NBA fans react to Zion Williamson’s injury news

On Friday night, the New Orleans Pelicans lost to the Orlando Magic by a score of 115-88.

Zion Williamson did not play in the game due to an injury.

The Pelicans have now announced (Saturday) that the two-time NBA All-Star will be out indefinitely.

Via The Pelicans: “The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that forward Zion Williamson has been diagnosed with a left hamstring strain. Medical imaging this morning confirmed the injury. Williamson will be out indefinitely and further updates will be provided as appropriate.”

Many fans responded.

@jmoreno76ers: “Good lord man…”

@CaicenzoCFC: “This is definitely fueling us.”

@garlandgillen: “My goodness, the hits keep coming for the Pelicans. Zion Williamson is out indefinitely with a hamstring injury.”

@MussoMatthew: “Death, strains and soft tissue injuries in New Orleans sports.”

@BiGALLEN50: “Was this because he recently played per chance due to an injury?”

@bstevens1960: “Looks like we haven’t paid attention to the NBA for Bruce for another year”

@ProPelsTalk: “At this point… I don’t know what to say. The injuries this team has suffered in 10 games are insane”

Williamson is averaging 22.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.2 blocks per game while shooting 45.2% from the field and 33.3% from three-point range in six games.

The former Duke star is in his sixth NBA season (all with the Pelicans).
