Nevada 2024 Live Election Results

Nevada voters head to the polls Tuesday to cast their ballots in a critical presidential swing state that is also home to a top Senate race and several competitive House races in and around Las Vegas.

The winner of the presidential race gets the state’s six electoral votes. The polls close at 7:00 PM local time.

State meaning

Nevada has voted for the Democratic presidential candidate in every election cycle since 2008, albeit often by narrow margins. President Joe Biden took over from former President Donald Trump in 2020 by more than 2 percentage points.

Democrats have built a robust base in Nevada thanks to a strong alliance with the state’s unions. However, given the state’s heavy reliance on the tourism and hospitality industries, the economy there has been slower to recover from the pandemic than others, and the attacks on inflation against Vice President Kamala Harris have been particularly strong there.

In a sign of the state’s competitiveness, Nevada re-elected Democratic Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto, but also voted for Republican Joe Lombardo to unseat then-Democratic Gov. Steve Sisolak in 2022.

Nevada also features a contest between Sen. Jacky Rosen, a Democrat seeking a second term, and Sam Brown, a combat veteran whose serious wounds in Afghanistan are at the forefront of his race.

Rosen won her first term by 5 points in the blue wave in 2018.

There are also three competitive House races in Nevada in and around Las Vegas.

Counties are colored red or blue when the percentage of expected votes reaches a certain threshold. This threshold varies by state and is based on patterns of past voting reporting and expectations of how the voting will report this year.
