On paper, FIU should win this game comfortably. Luckily for the Aggies, football isn’t played on paper. FIU has all kinds of issues on the offensive side of the ball, with standout quarterback Keyone Jenkins dealing with a shoulder injury. What this comes down to for me is NMSU’s rushing offense versus FIU’s rushing defense. The Panthers have had some issues stopping the run, while the Aggies are a run-first offense. It also doesn’t hurt that NMSU has had two weeks to prepare for this game at Pitbull Stadium. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if FIU wins here, but I expect it to be a much more exciting match than expected.
