New York institutions are offering free and discounted rewards to marathon runners

This year, in addition to the medal, there is also a prize for all marathon runners in New York. The Roadrunners from New York The organization today announced that marathon participants will be offered free and discounted prizes after a 42.2-mile trek next Sunday, November 3 access to some of the city’s beloved attractions. Museums, historic sites, Broadway shows and more everywhere in the city are included in the first of NYRR Past the finish line program this year.

“Every year thousands of runners come and… millions of spectators are flocking to New York City for the TCS New York City Marathon,” said Rob Simmelkjaer, CEO of New York Road Runners. “By partnering with other iconic New York institutions synonymous with the city, we will amplify the marathon’s impact long after runners cross the finish line in Central Park.”

The bulk of the action will take place on Monday, November 4, after the marathon runners have rested. If they’re not caught The Lion King or Aladdin still on Broadway, New York Road Runners organize performances with competitively priced tickets and a discussion panel afterwards. After completing 15 miles in five boroughs, many marathoners may not want to get up for a few days. But if they feel like celebrating their achievement, some of the city’s biggest art museums are offering discounts on November 4.

By showing a medal when purchasing tickets, marathon runners can count on cheap tickets to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art. All three museums offer finishers and their supporters early admission to the museum, while The Met hosts a breakfast party.
