NFL Scores, Live Updates: Eagles face Cowboys in classic NFC East rivalry, Cardinals host Jets

The Dallas Cowboys are reeling. They’re 27th in total defense and in the middle of the pack in total offense, and that’s not likely to get any better with Dak Prescott potentially out for the year with a hamstring injury and Cooper Rush starting in his place. All this turmoil seems like the worst possible time (if you’re a Cowboys fan), or perhaps the best possible time (if you’re an Eagles fan) for a visit from Philadelphia’s hated rivals.

The Eagles are off to a 6-2 start almost quietly, partly led by Saquon Barkley. He can’t seem to stop delivering ridiculous highlights and is on pace for over 1,900 rushing yards and over 2,300 scrimmage yards. While those lofty heights have yet to be determined, he is coming off an effort of 199 yards and two touchdowns. Oh, and Jalen Hurts is second in the NFL in rushing touchdowns and among the league leaders in passer rating.

Elsewhere in the late period, the Los Angeles Chargers will host the Tennessee Titans and the Arizona Cardinals will host the New York Jets.

Live14 updates

  • Trevon Diggs is partying like it’s 2021…

…when Diggs led the NFL in interceptions with 11. This is his second of 2024.

  • Eagles on the road after this big one from Hurts to AJ Brown

  • An easy assignment for Kyler Murray to put Arizona up 14-3

  • Dallas gets on the board with three

After a good kickoff return from KaVontae Turpin, who got the ball to the 40-yard line to start the drive, the Cowboys strung together a pair of first downs, led by Rico Dowdle’s 26 rushing yards on the drive. Brandon Aubrey topped it off with a 46-yard field goal to make it 7-3.

  • Would it even be an Eagles game if Jalen Hurts didn’t score a “Tush Push” touchdown?

This is career rushing touchdown No. 50 (yes, you read that right, Jalen Hurts has 50 rushing touchdowns in 71 career NFL games over five seasons) and his 9th rushing score this season, which is good for second in the NFL this season.

Hurts ranks third all-time in rushing touchdowns among NFL quarterbacks. Josh Allen is second with 57 (104 games) and Cam Newton is the record holder with 75 (148 games)

  • This is one of the problems with a new quarterback-center combination

The Eagles take over with excellent field position after this botched snap and turnover.

  • James Conner fantasy managers are not afraid

Wasn’t this nice of Cardinals’ offensive coordinator Drew Petzing to mention this play when you start COnner this week after the touchdown was nullified?

  • Cowboys go 3-and-out on first drive

Cooper Rush’s first start since 2022 didn’t get off to a great start. He went 2-for-3 in the first series, but the Cowboys didn’t move the chains. Rush comes in for Dak Prescott, who will miss the rest of the year with a hamstring injury for the 3-5 Cowboys. Dallas brings Micah Parsons back from ankle injury for today’s game,

  • Calvin Ridley finds the end zone to give Tennessee the lead in LA

Will Levis dropped a dime to Ridley for the 42-yard score.

  • Justin Herbert made some moves on the Chargers’ first drive

The Chargers managed a field goal on their first drive, but Justin Herbert found himself on the highlight reel in the first quarter.

  • Cowboys break out red, white and blue helmet stripes

Just one day before Veterans Day, the Dallas Cowboys will wear a special helmet sticker against the Eagles. The red stripe on the helmet was first used to commemorate the United States’ bicentennial in 1976, and the club has broken them out occasionally in recent seasons. Dallas wore them last year as part of the NFL’s “Salute to Service” celebrations on Nov. 12.
