Notre Dame vs Navy flyover game at MetLife Stadium

1 minute read

A historic college football rivalry comes to North Jersey as Notre Dame plays Navy at MetLife Stadium on Saturday at noon. Some time before the game’s kickoff, fighter jets will take off from Teterboro Airport and fly over MetLife Stadium, Rutherford police said.

Police posted on Facebook that five Navy F/A-18 jets arrived at Teterboro Airport on Friday. Two jets arrived at the airport after 1 p.m. and the other three arrived between 3:15 and 3:30 p.m., the post said.

Even though they are expected to fly to MetLife ahead of the match, their departure time has not yet been announced.

The anticipated meeting between two teams both ranked in the Top 25 of the U.S. LBM Coaches Poll marks the 97th time they have faced off and the second time at MetLife.

Many players from both sides will represent North Jersey as they return close to home for the game.

More information about what you need to know before attending the game, including parking lot and gate openings, can be found on the MetLife website.
